What does an interior designer in Malaysia actually do?
An interior designer works out how the home is going to function before the contractor builds it. That includes the layout, storage, carpentry dimensions, lighting, sockets, plumbing points and finishes. Mood boards and renders are part of the process, but much of the real work is in the drawings and coordination behind them.
How are interior design fees charged in Malaysia?
Firms usually charge in one of four ways: a fixed fee for an agreed drawing set, a percentage of the renovation value, a rate per square foot, or a design fee included in a design-and-build package. Is an interior design firm different from a renovation contractor?
