Credentials
A green building credential on our design team, backed by a registered business in Kuala Lumpur.
A LEED Accredited Professional on our team
One of our team members holds the LEED AP credential with a specialty in Building Design + Construction (BD+C). LEED — Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design — is a widely used green building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The LEED AP credential is issued by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) to professionals who pass its specialty exam and keep their credential current through continuing education. The credential covers greener approaches to building design and construction, including energy, water, materials and indoor environmental quality.

What does that mean for an interior project?
Most of our work is in existing buildings, so you’re more likely to see this knowledge in the decisions we make along the way than on a certification plaque.
Materials that last
We look beyond how a finish will look on handover. Materials and carpentry are also considered for how well they’ll stand up to everyday use, so they don’t need replacing sooner than they should.
Making the most of daylight
Where possible, we plan layouts around the natural light that’s already there, then use artificial lighting to complement it.
Spending where it matters
Not every upgrade is worth the extra cost. We look at where things like better glazing, efficient lighting or well-zoned air-conditioning make sense for the space — and where they don’t.

A credential, not a building rating
LEED AP is a professional credential held by an individual. It doesn’t mean that a building or interior fit-out is LEED certified.
Project certification is a separate process. A project has to be registered, documented and reviewed against the relevant LEED rating system, with its own requirements and fees.
Malaysia also has its own green building rating tools, including the Green Building Index (GBI). If your landlord, tenancy agreement or company requires a certified space, let us know early. It can affect material choices, documentation and the project programme, and it’s much easier to account for from the beginning.
A registered business
HNID Interiors is registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), business registration no.202503288329 (003787505-U), and is based in Kuala Lumpur.
We handle design and renovation under the same registration. If you need renovation work without interior design services, our sibling brand My Reno Servicehandles that work. You can also learn more about how we work on our about page.
